ABOUT OUR FARM

Jana and Maryanne are restoring a 1700s New England farm to productive use. Their workforce currently includes a trip of cashmere goats, a confusion of Guinea fowl, a Halflinger and a team of  Great Pyrenese livestock guard dogs.

Stone Harvest Farm's 110 acres nestle along the eastern edge of the Quabbin Reservoir in Petersham, Massachusetts, a mixture of woodland and open fields. The woodland is being managed to combine forestry and animal grazing or silvopasture.

Stone Harvest Farm goats are bred to the North American Cashmere standard. We are members of the Cashmere Goat Association and members of Petersham Grange No. 95.

Our yaks produce both milk and fiber.

Our farm sells cashmere (goat fiber) and yak fiber. We can customize a yarn blend. We also sell breeding stock and companion animals. We are developing a USDA meat enterprise which provides custom ordering.

Jana and Maryanne exhibit Stone Harvest Cashmere goats at Cashmere Goat Association shows.

We plan to produce value-added products and we invite artisans to bring us suggestions. If you have requests for items to be made, please Contact Us. Send us an e-mail and we will happily explore ideas with you.
